MailTrak SBE offers two primary mail-tracking services: Track by SmartSeeds and Track by Individual Mail Piece.

Track by SmartSeeds

SmartSeeds help you gauge overall performance of your mailing. If you know that a SmartSeed piece reached the destination postal facility, you can surmise that the other pieces in your mailing reached the same location. SmartSeeds allow you to track progress of mail without having to place an additional barcode on live mail. However, because these are additional mail pieces, they require extra material and postage.

Track by Individual Mail Piece

Track actual mail as opposed to additional SmartSeed pieces. Track individual mail pieces that have a PLANET Code affixed via a label, or printed on the actual mail piece. This service tracks a piece down the mail stream — all the way to final ZIP Code destination.

Tracking by individual mail piece also means that you don’t have to pay for additional material and postage, as with SmartSeeds.
