- Profiles may be built, or you may choose SmartSeeds while mail files are being processed. Just before postal qualification, merge the SmartSeeds into your files and you are done. The process is fast and simple.
- What is the accuracy of the scan data?
- The USPS does not have an accuracy standard for CONFIRM, but GrayHair has a monitoring module built into its software that predicts the likelihood of getting scans from certain locations. GrayHair historically has had the highest scan rates of any PLANET Code provider, including the USPS.
- How long does the USPS retain scan data? How about GrayHair?
- The USPS retains scan data for 15 days. MailTrak SBE allows mailers to review data for 45 days.
- What kind of reports can I get?
- From a listing of all scans on individual mail pieces to a delivery performance summary of the entire mailing, GrayHair Software provides as much or as little detail as you need to analyze your delivery. Reports are also available 24/7 via MailTrak SBE’s Web Viewer or email.
- Can’t I implement my own PLANET Code program?
- Yes, but be prepared to sift through mounds of data and request programming from your IT department. GrayHair normally receives three to four scans for each piece mailed with a PLANET Code. The scans must be matched back and reported on by their corresponding mail piece. A mid-size mailing of 5,000 pieces may create more than 17,500 scans!

- How long can I use a PLANET Code that I purchased?
- The life of a PLANET Code is 45 days from the time of purchase. When you are about to submit your order for processing, you will be informed of the time period before the PLANET Codes will expire. Mail-tracking reports are available for 45 days after the final mail date within a mailing.
- I purchased MailTrak SBE services for a mailing that was just canceled. What should I do?
- Contact GrayHair Software to start the credit process. Call 856-727-9372, extension 261. You will need your order number, username, and password to start the refund process.
- I want to purchase PLANET Codes and affix labels to live names. What is the label specification?
- After you submit your order, you will receive an e-mail containing a PDF of the PLANET Codes. The PDF is formatted for label stock. The labels specifications are as follows:
- Stock – Online Labels OL200 or Avery 8366 (or an equivalent)
- Label Size – 3.43” x .667”
